Power sliding doors made it easy for us to load our kids into the van as babies in travel system carriers, then allowed them to climb in as toddlers so we could buckle them, and now our kids climb in and buckle themselves. It has been 100% reliable (only one heater seat TSB fix), is powerful, smooth, comfortable and quiet, and has leather and almost every gadget and gizmo imaginable. Our Odyssey Touring is built like a premium vehicle. We have no reason to even shop for another family vehicle anytime soon. Our Odyssey has stood the test of time, already outlasting 3 of those other vehicles. What we've owned include: Accord, Camry, WRX, Legacy, Tribeca, Prius, TSX and TLX. I came here to tell everyone reading this and anyone researching Odysseys that it's not only an amazing family minivan, but quite possibly the best vehicle we've ever owned - and that's coming from a crazy car guy who can't … keep a car longer than 3 years. That means as of this writing, we've had it for 4.5 years and put on about 50k miles. Though I am carrying that minivan complex, it is definitely a good fit for our family at this current time.We bought our 2012 Odyssey, which was 3yrs old with 30k miles, in Spring 2015. I need to push down on them harder and because of the weight of the vehicle, it doesn't stop as quickly as an SUV or smaller car. If I had to nit pick the vehicle, I would say I'm not a fan of the brakes. If there was a rear end collision and no trunk space, the person in the third row would be hurt. This concerned us and we worried about the safety of whoever sat in the third row. In an SUV, the third row was typically crammed in and the trunk space was tiny. We viewed several SUV models, and we felt they didn't have the space that the Odyssey had. There is even enough room to change a diaper in it. They operate with the push of a button, and the kids can hop in and out of it with ease which is especially helpful when it's raining or there is another car next to us (no worries about hitting the other car with a door). It is stylish as it has a sunroof, which we love to open on warmer days. Our model even has a cooler in it to store drinks or to keep food cold. It is roomy - it has two rows of seating and can seat up to eight people, if needed. However, this vehicle is perfect for our family. I never wanted to have the minivan stereotype that comes with it. It was definitely not my top choice of cars. It was purchased solely because we had a third child and needed something that was family friendly and easy for the kids to get into. The kids like that they can have the temperature set to a different temperature than the driver or the passenger. We also like that is has heated seats in the front. I have not been able to use the satellite radio as it is an additional cost. One of my favorite things is that it has built-in GPS. We are spoiled by the key fob that allows us to open each of the sliding doors, open the back hatch, and roll the windows down. Another great feature is that both of the side doors open. The children like that it has blinds in the sliding doors in the back. We absolutely love that it has a little cooler in between the driver and passenger seats. We love that in the back not only is there great storage, but we have an additional compartment to stow extra things. It has three rows of seating which we took out the second row to make room for my son's wheelchair. This can has everything we need in a car plus a little extra. We have a Honda Odyssey with a vie conversion. ![]()
